Hebrews 13:3
This year I've suggested that my friends and family members send a Christmas card to someone behind bars rather than to us, and that we sincerely wish them God's blessings and will do the same.
When (not if!) you send your card to one or more of the following (or to some other inmates you know) you can include an article, a photocopy of an inspirational piece, your Christmas letter, etc.. The total should be one ounce or less, and no more than four items:
James E. Bender #1010837 (seeks parole after spending years in prison)
Greensville Correctional Center
901 Corrections Way
Jarratt, VA 23870-6914
Stephano Colosi #1037581 (active advocate for geriatric release for aging prisoners)
Buckingham Correctional Center
P. O. Box 430
Dillwyn, VA 23936-0430
M. Steven W. Goodman #1028377 (active in doing legal research on restoration of parole)
Green Rock Correctional Center
P. O. Box 1000
Chatham, VA 24531
A. Jefferson Grissette #1143033 (wrongfully sentenced based on plea bargain and photo line-up)
St. Brides Correctional Facility
P.O. Box 16482
Chesapeake, VA 23328
Nat Painter 1009725 (age 73, incarcerated 19 years, denied geriatric release in spite of good record)

If for whatever reason you prefer not to include your return address with your letter, you can have the person respond to me and I'll relay their message to you (assuming I have your contact information). In my 50-plus years of corresponding with individuals in prison I have never had any problems resulting from disclosing my address, but some people do recommend against it.

December 23 2012 my only child, my son Ben was shot 3x while the accomplice sat on his chest. These gangbangers crashed a Christmas party across the hall where my son lived across from his college. The cold blooded murderer got 80 years, 40 suspended and was just moved today from Keen to Buckingham to be closer to his family. They get visits with hugs and a kiss while I go to where my son was left for dead on the steps and go Christmas Day to touch his cold stone. Not a day since the sheriffs knocked on my door and the grueling trials, the fight for justice, the nightmares, the devastation of his family, his friends and you want their Christmas brightened? You are sickening Harvey Yoder.
I'm so, so sorry for your loss, and long for justice for victims and families that is swift and sure, while we also seek to rehabilitate and salvage offenders wherever possible.
Offender? Cold blooded murderer who would have been sentenced to life if not a plea bargain for him to plead guilty so not to cause further pain to the many who loved my son, by him continually filing appeals. Swift and sure justice? You are clueless. This is your mission in life to so call rehabilitate a killer and salvage what? Their rotten souls that God will decide what happens to them. So , so sorry? No you are not and obviously never had the pain to live with everyday of not having your beautiful child who was good, kind, loved, bright light in this world put out forever by a murderer who did so senselessly.Do you think your so called mission in life is admirable? Think again.
